Low Carbon Economy

Improving Northamptonshire’s low carbon credentials. Northamptonshire is set to be a catalyst in developing a truly low carbon economy.

Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP) counts developing a low carbon Northamptonshire economy as a top priority, it encourages existing companies to adopt energy efficient technologies, processes and techniques, alongside investment in skills, knowledge and waste management.

Northamptonshire already boasts; iCon at Daventry’s innovation in construction, Moulton College’s construction-based training and The University of Northampton’s Institute of Waste Management in its portfolio for a low carbon future.

Working with Northamptonshire County Council, the University of Northampton and other public and private sector partners, NEP seeks to exploit the existing scope for growth in the renewable energy sector through the development of an Energy Strategy for the county.

Ongoing work with local businesses, education providers and the local supply chain continues to make a low carbon economy for Northamptonshire a reality in order to ensure the long-term resilience of the county.
