Providing property solutions for growing businesses
Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP) works with partners and the private sector to provide a supportive property offer for growing companies in Northamptonshire.
NEP supports the growth of businesses to create new jobs and attract new investment by ensuring that Northamptonshire has:
- A diverse range of the highest quality commercial accommodation
- An image as an ‘open for business’ location, easy to deal with and responsive
- Innovative ways of working with public and private sector to attract business investment to the county
- NEP works to enhance the growing network of Innovation and Enterprise Centres, providing space for new and growing businesses and supporting job creation in the county.
The Fit for Market initiative
The County Council’s Fit for Market initiative delivers market interventions to stimulate and support job creation and to facilitate commercial development which would otherwise be unviable. Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership will help to identify, strengthen and assess potential projects and advise the County Council on which schemes should receive funding and the terms of any such investment.
Utilising Public Sector Land
Through asset utilisation the public sector can; act as a catalyst for regeneration, support innovation and help to create jobs and attract investment. A county example of this is the Portfolio Innovation Centre in Northampton which is located on a surplus school site, formerly owned by the County Council, this centre now houses more than 40 small businesses.
Four more county projects could help to attract significant investment and jobs for Northamptonshire and in doing so, transform its commercial offer. They are:
- The Angel Project
- The regeneration of Castle Station
- The expansion of the Grosvenor Centre
- The Wellingborough High Street development
