The Engine of Growth programme, which centres on Northamptonshire’s reputation for performance engineering and clean technologies, finds the Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership working to support Northamptonshire’s growing network of Innovation and Enterprise Centres, including:
Corby Enterprise Centre,which provides business support, strategic advice and flexible accommodation for early stage companies to accelerate the successful development of entrepreneurial companies.
Silverstone Innovation Centre, which provides professional infrastructure and brand support for start up companies along with vital early years business support, with a skew towards advanced engineering and motorsport related business.
iCon @ Daventry, an £8.7million building with space to house 60 businesses with the aim of putting Northamptonshire at the forefront of low-carbon construction, with opportunities for construction companies, property investors and property developers.
The Portfolio Innovation Centre, a hub for Northamptonshire’s creative industries. Opened in 2006 as a single storey building, the centre has expanded to three stories and 46 studios. The centre nurtures talent and innovation by providing its residents with business tools, advice and support.
Chesham House, a refurbished grade II listed building now offering high standard business facilities to Kettering and its local community. Businesses can take advantage of free advice and business support.

Work with the centres strengthens synergies between the centres and supports opportunities for specialisation to support the county’s key sectors. The Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership also works with the centres to identify and address any gaps in service or support provision, such as collaborative work with the University of Northampton on a number of innovation activities all aimed at supporting local businesses and their growth.
