An innovative new campaign is encouraging businesses based elsewhere in the UK and overseas to consider investing in Northamptonshire – the most enterprising place in Britain.
Love Northamptonshire is an inward investment campaign promoting Northamptonshire’s illustrious position as a centre of excellence for enterprise to businesses in the UK and internationally.
From 1st July, the campaign will go live in key locations to coincide with the launch of LOCATE - a new initiative offering grant funding to encourage businesses outside the county to move to, and prosper in Northamptonshire.
Developed by NEP in partnership with marketers’ from global brands local to Northamptonshire, including Carlsberg UK, Avon, Silverstone and others, Love Northamptonshire makes a clear case for what can be achieved with local engagement, a comprehensive portfolio of business support activity, a forward-thinking county council, and an outstanding creative approach.
The campaign specifically encourages London based businesses to consider moving to Northamptonshire – officially the most enterprising place in the UK. It sends a clear message to potential investors: Northamptonshire is open for business. Visit lovenorthamptonshire.com for more details.
LOCATE offers businesses employing less than 250 people a financial incentive to relocate to Northamptonshire with grants of up to £20,000. A comprehensive package of services including help with property search and recruitment is also offered. Funds will be awarded on a first come, first served basis, however strict criteria will be applied when considering applications, with an emphasis on potential for job creation.
Developed by NCC in partnership with NEP, LOCATE gives Northamptonshire a competitive advantage in securing investment from inbound businesses based not only in the UK but also overseas.
Tim Bagshaw, Head of Investment NEP, said: “Northamptonshire is officially the most enterprising place to do business in the UK. Our business support is business-led; we have a service we believe is second to none, and are seeing tangible results. We encourage businesses that might be considering a future move to get in touch and take advantage of our support package and incentives such as LOCATE now.”
Dr Paul Blantern, Northamptonshire County Council chief executive, said: “Northamptonshire has a lot to offer both as a place for businesses to invest and as a great place in which to live. However one of the biggest challenges we have is letting people know where we are.
“That’s where LOCATE and Love Northamptonshire come in as clearly attracting businesses to the county has many benefits for the local economy, especially in job creation.
“LOCATE is the latest in a wide programme of activities already underway in the county, all designed to stimulate the Northamptonshire economy. It shows how the public and private sectors can work together to bring benefits for all.”
The Love Northamptonshire project marks a progressive approach to public and private sector collaboration and showcases the strong working relationships between NEP and local influencers. It positions Northamptonshire as a cost-effective, conveniently located county just one hour from London.
The round 1 closing date for applications for the LOCATE fund is 31st July 2013.
