Cathy has been with NEP since its inception, transferring from Northamptonshire County Council as part of the economic development team.

In her early role within economic development, Cathy was instrumental in gaining support and funding for the Naseby Battlefield project and overseeing project delivery. She has also supported the management and delivery of various funding programmes including contract and performance monitoring. As the policy lead for enterprise and innovation for five years, she worked closely with local partners to address the needs of local businesses.

In March 2012, Cathy took over responsibility for managing and developing the Northamptonshire Ambassador Programme, a group of key influential and innovative leaders recognised for their contribution to Northamptonshire who work with NEP to support the promotion of Northamptonshire as an investment location. Cathy also created and managed the delivery of the Northamptonshire Business Summit 2012, a highly successful event featuring over 20 high profile speakers and a series of workshops providing advice and support to over 200 local businesses.

Since 2013, Cathy has been responsible for the design, implementation and management of the HPT Investment Programme - a £2.2m grant programme funded through the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) and European Regional Development Fund, enabling businesses in the HPT sector to innovate, grow and create jobs. Cathy also established and manages the HPT R&D Investment Programme – a £4m RGF funded grant programme focused on supporting large scale R&D activity and job creation in the HPT sector across both the NEP and neighbouring SEMLEP areas.

In June 2015, Cathy was promoted to Senior Programme Manager and now heads up the Programme Management team and has lead responsibility for all of NEP’s funding programmes which includes Growing Places, INV-ENT and LOCATE in addition to the HPT programmes.
